This year, spring has provided perfect conditions for moss – cool and moist.

Alongside the shady paths of Hampstead Heath I came across some splendid examples of the plant forming green mounds, spiky like tiny hedgehogs.

And during the same walk this spring, I admired these gorgeous pink hellebores in a front garden in Highgate. Nodding to passers-by and saying Happy Easter.
