Silver petals and violet berries

Pieces can change shape as you work on them. In fact, at the start I never quite know where I will end up.

This ring was intended to be a rather more restrained version comprising two simple discs with granulation in the centres. It turned into a daisy instead.

I do hope the recipient will like it despite the metamorphosis that occured during its making.

The shank is open, so the size is slightly adjustable. Not a bad thing if you want to wear it on different fingers.

And the violet berries are the winter clothes of a bush called callicarpa bodinieri. They stay on the bare branches for weeks during a season when colour is rare and so much appreciated.
