Time and a face (3)

The third locket in the series holds the picture of a woman taken closest to us in time.

Clear, green-tinted glass allows an unobstructed view. Only the curvature of the glass distorts the face around the edges.

The simple design of the pendant is in stark contrast to the old-fashioned dress and hairdo of the woman. It is a picture of my mother aged arond 35, taken just when the 1960s began to change the world.

Superimposed on the image in the locket is the reflection of the viewer’s face in the glass. We are looking at our own past.
