Tulips in my window

A full two months after starting this project, it is at last done. The technique is called filet crochet and is used to make doilies or, in this case, a curtain for the lower half of a sash window.

It was in Holland where I have seen some of the most beautiful examples of this craft, whose main audience is people passing by rather than people living behind the window. That’s why I chose tulips.

I used nearly 900 metres of cotton thread, or three bobbins of Anchor Artiste Mercer Crochet no 10, working with a 2mm crochet needle.
